Bottles. Looks like a small run of 300 bottles. It’s being sold at the brewery, so prob not enough for distro. It would be nice to see more barrel aged beers from these guys. I know Lamplighters said they will be releasing Barrel aged beers in the future.

I prefer bourbon barrel-aged stouts for the Fourth of July personally.

I live in a world with temperature controlled environments and storage capabilities. I'm fine with any beer released at any time.

Now I need to get central air just to enjoy a beer!? Brewers are real assholes these days.

You'd be terrible at marketing. Or would you be amazing at it? Hmm...

And avoid the beach, or pools, or the outdoors in general...

I just can't wrap my head around seasonal drinking patterns and complaining about any release based on the weather. People have access to refrigeration and ability to hold onto beer . Pull a stout from the fridge when you want one, drink a hefe or pils whenever.

Beach Bum Bourbon Barleywine. The ISO acronym writes itself. Honestly I'll take a BA barleywine release in the summer all day over another fruited blonde, American wheat, or IPA.

I can understand people not giving a shit about seasonal drinking patterns. But you can't understand someone enjoying a crisp Pils on a warm summer day, or a high ABV imperial stout in the dead of winter?

Or a Kolsch, or a Pils.

But Exhibit A already has a nice Kolsch covered.

I can't wrap my head around taking everything so seriously. It was a joke bro. Chill (in your perfect temperature controlled environment).

Both of my responses were light hearted comments. If you didnt read my response as chill I question your understanding of the word.

All I was saying is save the barleywine for whenever you deem appropriate, and have whatever other beer you want in the meantime. A little creativity in style releases during the year is a good thing.

Sure I can. It's the claiming a release as not being appropriate for the time of year that I don't get. Plenty of summertime lighter beers out there that a BBA barleywine release is unique and more interesting.

Went to Exhibit 'a' this past weekend to resupply my fridge. I missed this place. Well-rounded and quality offerings. Grabbed a 4-pack of the Kolsch, Briefcase Porter, Cat's Meow, and Hair Raiser. Only thing I'm missing is their big stout, Sunday Paper (hope that will reappear soon). They are firing on all cylinders. I've been thoroughly enjoying everything. Sours aren't so much my jam tho, and they do stock plenty of those.

The carb was definitely on point. I noticed it was indeed more carbed than a number of months ago, based on my pours.

Also, Cat's Meow has certainly evolved from what it was a couple years ago when they first opened. It is definitely in the NEIPA category now. Between the subdued to completely absent bitterness at the tail end, the juiciness up front, the smooth carb, and the appearance. The mosaic hops are playing out differently than I remember as well... they've taken on more tropical character rather than the dank twang from when it first hit the market. Not saying this is good or bad, just different. I wonder if the original will reappear in some form or another as a different offering at some point.

cat's meow has been great lately. Agree that the carb is much improved. Mosaic has grown on me in the past year or so (originally hated it and found it had a metallic taste), so maybe it's my own palate playing a roll. I still find it decidedly more bitter than most other NEIPAs which I like. Really well done beer.

Exhibit A is killing it. Cats Meow may be my favorite beer right now.
