Tried it last night, quite a bit more coffee forward for me, and less carbonation as well...Very, very good.

Saison Brett isn't a great beer to hoard. It's better fresher. I'm not saying it gets bad, but it's better fresher.

That said, you can find at least a three year vertical all over the state. Old bottles sit around on shelves all over the place.

I said hoard, not age. Just because I want 12 bottles total doesn't mean I'm not going to finish them all off in a month or two. And it may sit around elsewhere, but not in Dallas. Next time I'm in Austin I might look around for a few, or when I eventually get around to taking that trip down to Freetail.

At a minimum, Rye on Rye needs to sit 6-9 months. At that point it really changes and improves noticeably, but if you can wait longer, all the better.

Pretty damn good. It got a little sweet by the time I got to the bottom of my 40oz growler, but I'd definitely get it again. It almost seemed like there was some lactose in it that I could do without (I've been searching for slightly bitter coffee bombs lately), but it's definitely a very good beer.

We did a blind side by side and I was shocked BB5 was a unanimous win with 5 of us. Somehow I still prefer BWB, if that makes sense... BB5 is delicious though and at the very least hangs. Might be too hot for those that can't hang  .

Aged or fresh BWB? That 2011 BWB was damn fine stuff!

What is BB5? I always think Bishops Barrel 5 but I'm pretty sure that's not right. Or is it?

Nah, you're right. Both BB5 and BwB are Barrel Aged Scotch Ales, so that's why they're getting compared.

    Yes, Bishops Barrel 5.
