I don't know where to ask this, so I figured here would be a safe bet. I tried my first Argus Cider yesterday, (Malus Opus) and holy hell was it good. You could taste that same hill country terroir that Jesterking has in their beers. The cider was not sweet at all, and had more of a dry champagne bite. Does anyone know where I can locate their ciders in Houston? Really want to try some others. Thanks for the help!

This talk about Argus makes me curious enough to try one out, especially hearing that they are on the drier/less sweet end of things.

To answer your question, I walk by 4 cases of Idalou Brut every time I am at Specs downtown, also saw Lady Goldsmith at Central Market a few weeks ago.

 

I tried one at Flying Saucer yesterday because I wanted something special to celebrate destroying my exam earlier that morning. I was blown away by the Malus Opus. It had the smallest bite of sweetness to it. It was easily the best cider I've ever tried.

And you are in luck if you want to try them out. Flying Saucer is doing a Cider Night Live on saturday at 7. They will be pouring some Argus. I think I might go after work to try some out.

 

We stopped by Argus on our way out of JK a couple weeks ago and really loved the place. I'm a cider newb, but the funky stuff is really good and really interesting.

 

Argus Cidery at CM N Lamar, I think it was $16 and $19 for bottles of two types (I didn't look), which is 20% off (~$13 and 15!) through the weekend (either til Saturday night or Sunday night, I don't recall).

They also had Wet Hop, the GoT stout, and Rahr Visionary (not sure if this is a new release).

My Dad just went by Beer and Wine World in Mansfield and they have Founders Mango, GOT stout, and DFH Pumpkin

 

Ugh. Normally I don't bitch about beer showing before the season, but FFS.

 

Ehh I'll buy my usual six of Bigfoot, drink one and see how the rest develop. I need another four of wet hop I think... Cracked it tonight and it was amazing

 

The bigfoot is the 2013 batch, meaning it's been sitting in a warehouse somewhere and was found and sent out.

The Shinner Cheer... WTF? Their Octoberfest just came out.

 

Is it possible the Cheer could be old stock?
