I have expys from 06-12. This is a very subjective question, but I personally enjoy the 07 best.

Now is good - or later.

It's so damn good, it really doesn't matter.

Expedition Stout won the GABF gold in 2011 for aged beer. The vintage that won was 16 years old.

Hang on to them or drink it. Either way, you are going to fall in love with it.

I normally drink it around 10pm. Preferably at least 6 months after the bottling date

I think right around 5:30 PM is the best time to drink Expedition, though I've had good results with 7 or 8 PM.

This is one of those beers that is great at any age, including fresh. I really enjoy the hoppiness of the fresh bottles. Also, I can really dig the '10 that I recently opened, and reported in another thread. I've had them as old as 4 years, and they are good at that age too. I believe that Kzoobrew said that a 16 year old version recently won GABF gold in the aged beer category.

I'm in agreement with all the 2010 comments. I found a sixer of 9/13/10 (#9971) at a local bottle shop a couple months ago. Delicious! Very smooth and a lot of sweetness shining through, chocolaty for sure. I drank two, and I'm setting aside the other four to see how the years pass.

For me, after three years is when this one really gets good.
