I pretty much used that video and a similar post to yours to brew my first extract batch that turned out alright. Next thing you know I was reading every page of how to brew, because I wanted to make better beer. Each batch I learn and the next turns out better. It's a fun leaning process.

I think its a matter of doing it. But yeah it'd be a fun learning experiance indeed.

Take notes. Write down everything from your temperatures, gravities, what you were having trouble with, etc. You can help yourself make a brewing checklist for your next couple of batches, if needed.

You will overthink everything at first. Relax. About the most complicated thing you'll experience is in how long the processes with beer take.
Take care of your equipment and be clean.

Hook up with a brewing club and see what its all about. Also, alot of homebrew stores have brew days where they offer a class you can go to.
