I think you made my point better than I did. hah

I wouldn't necessarily call CW BBBW a shelf beer, but it's something those of us in WI/IL (and others) can pretty much get when it comes out if we want it. But for that guy, it was a super cool beer, and I'm completely content to share a beer I think is super cool with that guy.

Contextually, I have no idea where you're coming from. I've not once made fun of "newbies for being new to beer." I was once a newbie too. That being said. I'm not breaking out a bottle of King Henry for a group of people who've never heard of it. Apparently, that offends you.

Zombie Dust, sip of sunshine and heady topper aren't important...they are just really good pale ales and IPA's
I think you mean how hard they are to get...I would suggest just having some newbies come, tell them to bring a beer they like and see what they think of SOS, heady topper and zombie dust compared to their current favorite beer...would be a nice gesture

That doesn't make them important. It just makes them harder to get. Most states have breweries putting out beers that are at least on par with them, especially in the case of IPAs.

Sip for example has started to become a bit of a shelf beer in CT because of the wealth of options in the style.

    Boom!
and Boom with a mic drop. :grinning:

Seriously though. Not being a dick, but there is no need for people to overcomplicate bottle shares. Bring a variety of different styles and availability, crack them open, pass them around. Jai Alai is a shelf beer, and I bet there would be a lot of people very happy to drink it. Also, I there are still plenty of year round beers I haven't tried and it is a great way to try new stuff.

I can't think of a time, including at a share, I wouldn't be glad to drink CW BBBW. Wish I had one now.
