I really have to wonder if the beer is going out before it is done fermenting fully, which would make total sense. Maybe they aren't getting the same attenuation over time that they were getting at the Brew Cafe with some of the beers, or have the beers caught a bug that's continuing to ferment out the longer chain sugars? Has this happened with beer brewed at both locations or only stuff brewed from the Fermentaria? (I understand some of the beer served at the brew cafe is brewed at the fermentaria)

Took the risk and checked out the Fermentaria and got growlers to go. So far so good. But as I was there somebody else did come in with a busted growler, saying it blew up on the way home. The whole bottom just undone from the rest of it. Crossing my fingers I dont have any issued. Too long of a ride back to go and make any exchanges.

I will say though that everything I had was fantastic. Cant remember a beer off the top of my head that was jucier than the Mosaic MagoTago I had. Really awesome beer.

If I were a betting man I would gamble big on it being a glass issue and not a beer issue, despite the assertion of the man in the glass growler industry who shipped 50 pallets of same variety and never heard of problems.

Has TH made any announcements? Do they sell their growlers with a warning? Why do they continue selling these with the risk of injury to customers, and lawsuits against the company?

So truthful. Each time they, and the public, are made aware of additional breaking growlers they further open themselves to a lawsuit when one of these growlers explodes next to a person and causes bodily harm. Sticking their head in the sand is the worst thing they can do.

They sell a ton of growlers and the exploding ones seem to be a very small percentage. I would take my chances, I bought a growler yesterday and no problems.

I will add that of the 18 growlers I left with, all the ones I had issues with were mosaic mago tago...I purchased 6 of that beer...the others were a mix of mago tago, oats potion, and alien churchhands....all of which held up fine...so what are the odds of all explosions on my end being only mosaic mago tago?

However the percentage of Tired Hands growlers exploding versus all other PA breweries growlers exploding combined is very high. Just saying.

Assuming it was just Alien Church, and awesome beer, and not actually Alien Churchhands.

I've gotten a decent amount of growlers, even let some sit over night is the fridge for a few days and shipped a few out with no issues. All swing tops.

Hate to report that I had an exploding growler this morning. Picked up a 64oz growler of Mosaic MagoTago at the Fermentaria yesterday (Saturday) afternoon around 5:00pm. Was not a new growler, it was a Tired Hands growler that I've had for a while and used for growler fills before. I woke up this morning to 64 ounces of beer all over my fridge. The growler was still standing upright, but there was a crack all the way around the bottom of the glass that completed separated the bottom of the growler from the top section. 64 ounces is a lot of beer to have to clean first thing in the morning!

Maybe they should stop filling growlers until they fix the problem.
