External 240 electric brewing element.

    Have a 15 gallon blichman kettle I want to convert to electric. Do they have an external 240 stick ?

    Not sure about Blichman, but if you are ready to tackle the electric you can look through Grainger or McMaster Carr and find all sorts of 240V heating elements. These are replacement elements for water heaters. If you have some skill and know what you are doing they can be pressed into service. There are videos.

    This is pretty much what us old timers did back when homebrewing meant everything was homebrewed. If you don't have the chops for the electrical work, let's not experiment. Water and 240 volts will burn your house down best case. Worst case you die.

    Blichmann’s electrical heating elements seem to be limited to the boil coil, which you probably realize is internal. I have a 120 for smaller batches and am happy with it. I’m guessing you are reluctant to put holes in your kettle for a boil coil, either because you want to reserve the option of going back or you just don’t want to risk messing up a perfectly good and pricey kettle.
