OP, I completely defer to Bungyo on this, with the following caveat: I really enjoyed my visit to Astoria Brewing/Wet Dog. I loved their ImpIPA, and one of the best bowls of clam chowder I've ever had. Fair warning, I just realized it's been 10 years. YMMV. Still, worthy of consideration, IMHO.

    AH HA!

Whilst my endless crankiness bubbles up from a seemingly bottomless well of unknown origin, I believe we have found the basis of your discomfort; you agitate your inner self with the bitter bite of the coffee monster, all the while denying yourself the balancing nourishment of a rare, 16oz T-Bone, with a tangy layer of Gorgonzola on top.

With a couple of garlic-butter laden baked taters on the side. Obviously. And, an ear of fresh, local sweetcorn.

After the chicken thigh appetizers of course.

Remember one of my main life philosophies: vegetables are what food eats.

Bacon. Bacon is the gateway drug for vegetarians. Once they bite into a properly cured and seasoned side of pork belly, all soy alternatives become dead to them.

You have not only failed to diagnose my condition, but also possibly betrayed an ignorance about your own. Quelle surprise!

Coffee, a meatless diet, regular exercise, 20-30 years, and a much higher percentage of clean-living may be all that separates us, Terry. I'll stay just where I am, thank you very much.

As for you, the depths of your derangement are doubtless imponderable, but "If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always gotten." I know you think the ship has sailed, but it's really never too late to change...

I should think that anything else would do. But if you've gotten this far, and you have, just keep on keeping on. You are perfect just the way you are.

(@Stl705 - Sorry, on behalf of us all, for the threadjack. As you have no doubt observed, we are wonderfully helpful on the front end, but tend to drift towards esoteric stuff on the back. You're sure to have a great visit here, whenever you come, and I hope our input has been of use.)

    Butterfly please.
    Would settle for robot.
I think we can all agree that my prior suggestions were better.
    Yeah?

Than the status quo? Yes, natürlich, and even the man himself would likely accede to that.

I'd also add "ballerina" to the mix, because that just strikes me as a secret lifelong dream of his. But a robot butterfly ballerina is just too weird, and perhaps the only thing worse than the reality of the man before us.

After I had been in Bham about a year, I got invited to an awesome Halloween party. Not being one much for costumes or pop culture, I was just going to use face paint and hair dye, and call it good. But, my friend Holly had idea, using an old costume of hers. I still did face and hair, and, since she was a fan of the Cohen brothers, I went as The Outlaw Butterfly of the Apocalypse, as seen in Raising Arizona.

Well, would it be like a Transformer robot? A robot from a cheesy 50s Sci-Fi movie? I wouldn't mind being the robot from Lost in Space, if I could get my pinchers on June Lockhart (yes, I am of a certain age). I wouldn't want to be Styx' Mr. Roboto. I like Roy, and wouldn't want to kill him. Could I be a robot Godzilla? That'd be awesome.

How about Robby the Robot from Forbidden planet? That robot was capable of replicating rotgut whiskey in large quantities, and he seemed to give every indication he could do the same with BA impy stouts, farmhouse ales and IPA's. Instead of having June Lockhart to exercise your pinchers on, you'd have the delectable Anne Francis.

The only thing that makes it weird is the robot part. Nobody wants to see robotic ballerinas. I've got great legs, so everyone would look forward to seeing me in a tutu.

Well, I wasn’t planning to ever share this shot I took of a certain local celebrity during the kick-off celebration for Bellingham Beer Week last summer, but now my hand has been forced.

To suggest we'd all look forward to seeing you in a tutu may be putting it a bit strongly, but as the evidence here amply proves: you really do have a fantastic set of gams!

(Boy, I really pity OP. If that poor guy didn't stop watching this thread a few days ago, he surely has by now. I just hope he hasn't decided to forgo his trip altogether...)

Nice try, but no. I have a beard, no tats, I'm much more graceful, and my legs are better.
