Extras value?

If doing extras, typically about $8 - $12 (a few locals), but there have been times where I sent double the value of the trade in extras. Really depends on the trade and the trader and circumstances around the trade. These days I typically will ask for no extras as I have too much beer as it is or stipulate that extras not go crazy. At that point (as mentioned in the other thread) they aren't so much extras but more of a send a few brews that might be on their wants or local favs or the like.

 

I just send stuff, I never count the cost. How much, and of what I decide to send depends on the trade. Sometimes I agree to what the extras will be in advance. This works well if you have a styro shipping box with a limited number of slots. Recently I traded 3 bottles, plus one "extra" and we agreed in advance what they would be.

There doesn't need to be a hard and fast rule about extras. Just be generous and beer karma will be repaid to you.

 

It really depends. I tend to hook up long time trading partners more than new people, but everyone gets extras. Always look at wants but some people just have all whales as wants and I dont typically extra whales unless youre an established partner.

 

If I can't hit any wants it's usually just a bomber and a few 12oz of stuff I like that my trade partner can't get in their area/locals.
