I don't expect extras, I usually try and throw in a couple bottles but I always have extra bottles on hand so it's not really a big deal. Most people throw in a bottle or two or a couple coasters or a glass and some people throw in way more- I think it all evens out in the end.

    Non-beer extras are cool too.

I like giving out extras, usually a handful of locals, or 1-2 nicer, harder to find beers. If I'm trading rarer beers I usually like to throw in an extra in the $10-15 range.

I haven't gotten non beer extras but would be totally geeked to get it... I need to start picking up extra swag to give in trades

I always throw in 3-4 beers, generally a local or two and then usually 2 sought-after beers that aren't available in the area of the person I am trading with. Off the top of my head, I've thrown in Insanity, Founders Imperial Stout, White Rajah, and a whole lot more. I always let the person know that I'm going to add some extras in. It wouldn't bother me a bit if someone didn't throw any extras in.

I have received some ridiculous extras in the past, and whenever I get REALLY good extras I always feel a little guilty. The last trade I got had more $ in the extras than the beer I was trading for! (Thanks, gcphilli!)

Just out of curiosity, what sort of cool non-beer stuff are you guys throwing in as extras? I'd love to get some unrelated swag as an extra!

Homebrew or a want of theirs that you may have?

I always keep a couple of 6 packs of beers that I know dont have much distro out of the state that I enjoy to throw in.

I recently completed my first trade using this site and I didn't include any extras. I probably will now

I always throw in a locally made mustard. It's a stone ground mustard, and it's fantastic. Only available around here. I change up my extras, but I usually throw in a bottle of Great River Brewing River Rat rootbeer too, when I can find it(it sells out quickly around here)

I'd love to get some local chocolate, coffee, or whiskey (probably too generous) thrown in as extras. Too bad this forum turned beer only or I'd probably be trading specifically for those things.

Interested in a coffee and/or chocolate for beer trade? I would add whiskey too, but the local whiskey is garbage.

Extra's do seem to be the normal thing in trades I have always got extra's and some have been outrageous too! I've also never shipped a box out to someone with out a "few" or so :-) extras

I have recently received the 1st box ever with just the 1 beer we traded for as well. but extra's are just what it says don't expect them there just a little something extra...........

    Just my honest thoughts

I love extras, it's exciting seeing if there are any in the box and what they are.

I would love to trade with you, sir. I love mustard, especially one-off locals!

I've definitely thrown in a bottle of scotch as an extra a few times. Personally, I love the idea of non-beer extras.

Our tasting group loves the extras you send to Mike(camil1mj)! It seems like he's texting me beer photos every week..."look what knifestyles got for me!" And then you kill him with a bottle of scotch, too. Ridiculous.

i have done 4 trades now (working my way up) and the first person i traded with sent me a lot of good extras. being new, I had no idea to do that, so I sent him just what we traded for. I felt so bad after finding out that is the norm, that I resent another package with a few extras.

What is a good common practices for amount of extras? I sent a few beers, but i fell like i should have sent him more.

This. If I ever get a Chocolate Rain, I hope the person who trades it to me also has access to Tcho chocolate. BM me, folks.

I usually discuss extras ahead of time. Then I try to throw in something really good for them. Something I really like. Lately it has been CW BBBW and CW BBS.

The Extras are almost more exciting than the package.

The best I ever had was getting 2 beers I already had tried and were in my fridge, but he pointed out, he had read my reviews and saw I wanted to try aged version, so he sent me a 2yo bottle of each. I was stoked!

Set your standards down to the floor for extras. You won't be disappointed when you don't get them and when you do you'll be some degree from happy to jumping off the walls ecstatic.

Usually if someone is fair/generous I more than make up for it with extras. I have a trade for a couple Beat with someone I traded with before. He gave me a fair deal on the Beat, there are now extras in the box that rival the traded beers.

This is how its done. I know many of the newer people don't get this concept but if you're actually fair or generous, a lot of us do this. I'll bet many have missed the opportunity of getting extrad a beer they would've given their left nut for because they're too busy being greedy assholes.
