I've used my EZ-Cap bottle washers once. Can they be reused? I thought just flipping them over and using the undented side would be OK.

They will eventually wear out, but they're not just intended for single use.

Got two replies from EZ-Cap employees. Reuse them until it's obvious you shouldn't. One person said they've used their's 10+ times.

No personal experience here, but I'd think they get hard after aging. I'm sure others have some ballpark numbers on these guys. I'd be more likely to push them further on session beers and more likely to replace them right before bottling an expensive RIS.

I've reused mine for years. Once they dry out or crack, I replace.

That seems to be the "official" answer from EZ-Cap: i.e. if they look bad, chuck 'em. The only reason I brought the subject up in the first place was because they appear to be crushed once used. I haven't looked at then recently but they do seem to rebound, somewhat.

I've never had a reseal problem, though also flip the rubber washers over from time to time if they look too crushed. I wish I had more of them. I've had wild and funky beers in them without lingering infection concerns on subsequent clean beers.

It work great for me, when it's start cracking I get new ones like those . If you go easy on it and wash them it cloud last for few years.
