I'm holding out for the Rathskellar brewery...
but it would have to be more cobbled together than the old Watch City was, allegedly, and it'd have to be filthy, inside and out.

Speaking of old Somerville haunts...did anyone ever go to "Barnaby's"?

You can still see that name faded with an Irish Clover next to it on the Redbones sign.

I'll be in Malden tomorrow early evening most likely. Any way to do takeaway cans at Faces? Their social media doesn't indicate if that's a thing...

    From their webpage:

"We were busy brewing and then we got busy canning. Our first four styles arrived in cans on May 30th. Come on by and grab some cans to-go."

Might be worth a quick call to see what's available to go.

While it certainly wasn't "Slummahvul", that was right around the time things started to dramatically change in the area. That was the recession year and I looked at a couple different 3 bed apartments to buy which were in the $180K - 200 range.

The next year I decided to move out there, but rent. Property value sky rocketed shortly after (not because of me, haha).

You're lucky if you can buy a New England IPA in a tulip glass at a bar for that price these days.
