Hi all! My best friend is going on a cruise that swings by Alaska & Canada at the end of the month. She's not a big beer drinker but offered to grab some stuff for me. They will be spending a few days in Fairbanks to try & see the Northern lights so this will probably be my best bet at picking something up. Are there any stores that carry craft beers that I should point her to? Looking for Berserker & Midnight Sun stuff as well as Cantillon in Canada (a much longer shot). Any help is greatly appreciated, cheers!

Cantillon is easy to find in Vancouver. Firefly Wines and Lager, Viti and Brewery Creek all have various bottles. I was just there the other weekend and between Firefly and Viti, I got Rose de Gambrinus, Kriek and Lou Pepe Framboise.

I was in Fairbanks this Spring. They won't be able to find anything other than the Midnight Sun regulars. I had to specially order Arctic Devil and it took a month. The Gold Hill store on the way out of town has some really old beers that haven't sold. I bought some 09 TenFidy. Also, I think its gonna be tough to catch the Norther Lights this early in the year.

thanks for the tip, i'll work out a route for her in vancouver!

bummer, they are only spending less than a day in anchorage i think before they ship out. i think this is the only time she can go because of rotations, so i'm crossing fingers that they come a tad earlier, cheers!

Anchorage would def have them at the brewery. While in Fairbanks, they should head out to fox (bout 20min) and grab you a growler at silver gulch brewery. They can get some badass food while filling your growler!

a growler would be badass thought i don't know what the policy is for taking "open" bottles of alcohol onto the ship. is anyone knowledgeable about cruises?
