should have also said SamAdams Oktoberfest is a fine domestic example of the "robust marzen" if you will, right with GLBC for me. Funny how the German-made marzens are thinner, better for the guzzling, if you will.

A huge fan of hoppy reds this time of year. Also Clown Shoes Coffee Pecan Pie Porter is calling my name when it arrives.

Oktoberfests ... a style I'm not a huge fan of but one I should be being such a big lover of the German lager family.

After that, I'm always on the lookout for new or different seasonals. I'll try anything once.

Surprised no one has mentioned Sierra Nevada's Wet Hop specifically. That's one of my favourite beers period. It's pretty much a teaser for Celebration as well as I find them very similar. I used to love getting Sweetwater's Motorboat but that was discontinued last year unfortunately.

I'm not a big fan of either pumpkin ales or Octoberfest beers, to be honest. I crave brown ales, stouts and porters, barleywine, and black and red IPAs/amber ales in the fall. Sierra Nevada Flipside in particular I'm thirsty for.

Happened to find a bottle of 2014 Nosferatu in the cellar. Not sure how it's going to taste, but wanted to post of pic of the label changes regardless.

    Cheers!

I'll second the SN Flipside. Tried it last year with marginal expectations....ended up drinking it on 3 or 4 occasions during Fall.

It was only brewed once. I loved that beer too. It's one of my favorites and I wish they'd bring it back.

Oktoberfest beers are an awesome excuse for me to dig out my big glass! Nothing specific in terms of beers I'm looking for, but I am beginning to grow weary of the AALs, Pilsners, and lighter styles I've been drinking. Time for full-size IPAs, Marzens, and maybe some Dubbels. I'm a big fan of Ommegang Abbey Ale, and saw someone mention Sythe and Sickle farther up thread. Maybe I'll give that one a shot this year - the description sounds good!
