    :joy::rofl:

Almost as good as the retailer who told me "Those high alcohol imports will last forever." when I pointed out the two year old (yeah, I have my freshness limits too) Optimator on his shelf.

    Pffff freshness snob.

I was also going to mention Ayinger’s high price tag deterring me too, but let’s be honest, my reputation precedes me on these forums regarding the price of beers.

Any chance that you have become wiser over the years? You have finally decided that paying inflated prices for old product is an imprudent purchase?

    Cheers!

Someone let me know when we start seeing reports of other beer releases and not just 10 pages about festbier etc. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah I was just poking fun at myself for generally not caring about the price of beer.

Typically I don’t buy much beer over three months old these days. Simply because there’s so many options.

This week I did snag two month old Pilsner Urquell and three month old Rothaus. I was very happy about that.

    I saw a pumpkin beer.

    I didn’t buy it.

Have you tried Lawson’s Finest Liquids Scrag Mountain Pils yet? I discussed this beer in today’s New Beer Sunday thread (see link below).

While we are discussing dates (freshness) the 6-pack of this beer was canned on 06/26/19 so less than 2 months old at the moment.

    Cheers!

Yes it’s pretty early but I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised to start seeing pumpkin beer (because I was totally not expecting it yet). So far I’ve had Blue Moon’s harvest pumpkin wheat and Dogfish Head Punkin ale. Definitely open to suggestions on pumpkin beers

The big ones that show up all the time are Southern Tier Pumpking and Warlock. (I dislike both, but I am not big on pumpkin beers.)

New Holland's Ichabod is probably my favorite. I haven't seen it so far this year, or last, where I am (in Georgia), but they said they are not shipping quite as much of it all over as they used to.

Schlafly's Pumpkin Ale, which I had when I was in Chicago (because they don't distribute here), is pretty much a pumpkin pie in a glass. Only can have one or two, but it's good as well.

I believe they're both available in PA.

The Schlafly is a big hit in the midwest. No idea if they still distribute to PA. They stopped distributing to Ohio if memory serves. Used to be able to get their stuff in columbus and such.

Schlafly is available in PA. Have heard great things about their pumpkin, so planning to try it.

A “sighting” of yet another Oktoberfest – One of clean realism with a slight graininess to the floral infused hops, and cedar grounded earth. The scents articulate toasted malt with berried hard candy, roasted caramel, sweet corn, honey glazed Chex, and bonfire seared almonds with the accompaniment of soft bready dough

There’s a rauch hindsight in waning, while traces of cardamom make a chirp. Yet, the nuances are deep rooted in fall/autumn with rustic connotations, and involvements of herbed nutmeg, toffee tea leaves, dried figs, cassis engravings, sugary toast, spiced pumpernickel, and Seckel pears to fruit nugget. The more restrained subtleties, in fruity esters, weigh more on the palate via a light coating of brown sugar across dried apricots, dates, tangerine, and green almonds to longings of green apple skins

A rich, bready malt spectrum that’s inhibited by a firm, cracker-y bitterness and a dry finish that provokes nostalgia…A “clean and classic” take/feel that’s studied, calculated, and genuine
