Agreed. Also agree with your reply to me. I almost remember years ago SA O-fest (and it may have been another brewer) was released in September. I have slept a few times since, so that may not be right. If that was the case there was that creep by a month, but that would be more due to the quarterly release schedule you mentioned and it being released sometimes in the last week or 2 of July is just random. The reason I do think it was SA is that I feel like there was a time when O-fest was released the same time as the fall pack. I may be completely off on this, but it seems like the fall pack has always had a September release.

Speaking of, I haven't heard a single bit of news about what will be in the fall pack this year. I'm assuming it will be the same? I enjoyed the Spruce Lager.

Hofbrau and Paulaner Oktoberfest Wiesn have hit my local store. Picked up a sixer of the Hof and three bottles of Paulaner (only got a case or something, so they singled, as well as stopped by Fat Head's to get a sixer of the G'Suffa Oktoberfest which came out today.

Really excited to dig into these this weekend!

    When were those beers bottled?

    Cheers!

I think SA is going the way of SN and eliminating these types of packs, the summer SA one had a few of their regular beers together and was nothing like years passed.

My guess is that they'll do Boston Lager, 76, Octoberfest, and Pumpkin Ale. But that fourth beer could be something different.

Good point. I didn't even pick up a pack of that this year. I like the Summer Ale ok, but I'm just not as much of a fan of their summer stuff for the most part. Not enough to buy a 12 anyway. I just hope if they do go away from that they will at least bottle Fezziwig in it's own 6 packs. There are a few of the fall beers I wish they would sell in 6 packs also.

Paulaner has an expiration of 05/20 date (I assume this means it was bottled 5/20).

Hofbrau has the code "L 148 S" which I believe means May 28th of this year.

Have you tried Summer Ale yet this year? It's a new recipe

    That's never happening unfortunately.

It's likely one of the ways they get people to buy the winter mix pack.

Our local and outstanding OMB releases their Oktoberfest typically around the 4th week of August which is perfect for having it fresh and available into October. The Highland Clawhammer Octoberfest is out and seems a little earlier this year which I was a little disappointed in but will still try.

Some folks criticize the May brewing dates on the fest beers we get here from Germany but I am imagining that it has been so for some time and it has not one iota dampened my enthusiasm for getting them for the fall football season. Candidly outside of some particularly very, very well made local examples, they still outshine the majority of those produced in the states.

Just bought Sam Adams Octoberfest at my local neighborhood market. I was surprised to see it as it’s not even among the options on the Sam Adams beer finder web site yet. Just $14.47 for a 12-pack. It’s one of my favorites so of course I had to buy it. Cheers!

Two weeks ago my beer store received a shipment of Spaten Oktoberfest dated 01/2020. Manager thinks the distributor is dumping old stock to make room for a new shipment.

Are you sure it's this year? My grocery store still has SA White Christmas & Cold Snap on the shelf.

I looked at my KBS when I was organizing things, and I just burped them onto the back of the reefer. Last week I nipped at PBR here and there, the heat was just brutal but better today.

FYI I know that some of the BW3 in the Cincinnati area already have SA Octoberfest on tap.

How is the Summer Ale this year? How is it different from previous years?

    Cheers!

I miss their fall/winter packs from years ago, had some awesome beers in them and they were great for holiday gatherings because there was something for everyone.
Strange labeling from them lately but this one I kind of dig, as it's a nice mix of old and new.
