Pumpkin beer officially in my neck of the woods - the candy corn of beer:grin:

At least Paulaner marzen showed up in 6 and 12 packs… I’m expecting the usual suspects to come out soon now too. Even if it is still way too warm out for such beers, love it too much to pass on:beers:

I just received my weekly e-mail from a local beer retailer. It would seem that Oktoberfest in July is ‘officially’ here:

    “12oz 6pk Bottles Warsteiner Oktoberfest

12oz 6pk Bottles Flying Fish Octoberfest

12oz 6pk Cans Vonn Trapp Oktoberfest

    12oz 6pk Bottles Spaten Oktoberfest”

    Non-cheers to season creep!

Good to hear, looked for this the other day at one of my regular shops. Had to "settle" for the Kölsch.

My usual store has Weltenburger Kloster Anno 1050.

It's the only Oktoberfest they have listed.

    (I didn't check on pumpkin-spice beers.)

I hope that you enjoy the Von Trapp Kolsch as much as I do.

I discussed this beer in this past weekends’ NBW thread:

“A couple of days ago I also purchased a six-pack of the Von Trapp 11/18/21 batch at Kunda. This is my third six-pack (so far) purchase of their Kolsch this year.”

    Cheers to Von Trapp Kolsch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Except... it's really not. Year-round Marzen, yes (and not as good as it used to be IMO).

I picked some up a couple weeks ago. Decent fest-style Marzen, but I'm waiting on HB.

I do Jack, that was my 3rd or 4th six pack this year. I also really like their Oktoberfest and Trosten.

Needless to say I too am a fan of Von Trapp Kolsch.

I have in the past purchased six-pack of the Von Trapp Oktoberfest and Trosten and I did indeed drink every six of those two brands but neither was a repeat purchase for me. Neither of those brands were in no way 'bad' but they just didn't 'ring my bell'.

I did discuss Trosten in a past NBS thread:

    "Overall:

This beer is good. I thought the smoke level was in the Goldilocks zone (just right) for this beer. For my palate this beer would have benefited from a bit more mouthfeel."

As regards Oktoberfest beers I will likely purchase a case+ of Sly Fox Oktoberfest this year - just like last year(s).

    Cheers!

Enjoy, I had the Sly Fox O'fest years ago but never went back. Hard to remember why, maybe I'll pick up a six this season and revisit it.

Given that you are a fan of Von Trapp Oktoberfest the Sly Fox Oktoberfest may not be your 'cup of tea'. The six-pack of Von Trapp Oktoberfest was too robust (almost ashy-like) for my palate. In contrast Sly Fox Oktoberfest is a perfectly balanced (between malt and hops) beer for my palate.

If you give Sly Fox another try I would be interested in what you think.

    Cheers!

Well, Sly Fox Oktoberfest is not "underrated" by me - I rate it very high.

Now the Oktoberfest beer I think is underrated is Yuengling Oktoberfest. I do not highly value this beer per the Oktoberfest beer style but I find it to be a very enjoyable beer to drink. When I drink it I just try to dismiss the beer style aspect and simply enjoy drinking it on its own terms.

    Cheers!
