Completely agree. I've had about a half a dozen different IPAs, and all Jai Alai. I don't often buy it anymore because of the date. If it was consistently fresh that might change. So grateful they date their beer at least. A fantastic IPA, but freshness can make or break this one.

Dunno how to post an article, but in Pennsylvania, Evil Genius is bringing back 4 Stoudt's beers!
Starting with the Oktoberfest, then the Gold -my second favorite -and 2 others.
I can only dream for the Honey Double Mai Bock!
    I'm super stoked!
They started it all back in the late '80's around here. I used to go on keg runs with my pops, as it was right down the turnpike from us.
Before they changed Brewers, and went towards ales, they weren't as good. Still better than anything around though, as there wasn't much.
    Long Live Stoudt's!
Evil Genius, please don't F with the recipes! For the love of God!

    Now I'm stoked! :grin::blush::+1:
Can you post a link to the article?

Yep - Stoudt's pretty much started it around here. I was bummed that they shut down. I would make the half hour trip to Adamstown every so often to have some of their beers (and take some home). Especially before local beer stores started carrying their bottles.

One of my favorites of theirs was a Weizenbock that they had on draft at their 2018 or 2019 Octoberfest.

When did Stoudt's change brewers? Did Carol hand the reigns to someone else for awhile?

Bill Moore was the head Brewer early on, then he left to go to Ortleibs, I believe, then Sly Fox, now Lancaster.
Dunno how to post a link?
I'm sure a Google search should find it.
    Yes, the Weizenbock was delicious.
The Abbey Triple was pretty amazing too. Their beer & best of the wurst fests were legendary!

I'll drink last year's Oktoberfest if you guys don't want it.
Even with a little age on it, I still like it better than most of what's on the shelves these days anyway.
    The Pumpkins, not so much.

WTF? That's awful. As someone who's bought Ayinger Okto well after the season, I can tell you that beer won't be good. And it's going to give Ayinger a bad name.

the distributor merchant duvin had this on there beer finder it wasn’t listed a week ago so I figured it had to be fresh but nope L1153 date three cases of it too.

Merchant du Vin is the importer, not the distro. There is a distro in your area who is playing games with old stock.

"These are silly beer drinkers, what do they know?"
