If my memory serves while I was in Munich, was it Giesinger Brau that’s making moves to be at Fest?

By the way, yes, their Marzen is better than their Festbier if that’s what you’re into. I was disappointed in the Festbier. But I’ve been spoiled by so many great beers here in Germany that sadly (and snobbishly) I’d say I don’t seek out the big breweries in bottles anymore. I agree, I’d never turn one down, but they’re also so much better vom fass.

Back in 2021 they said to look for them at the Oktoberfest in about 5 years.

Saw a huge display of Southern Tier Warlock (including a few 4-packs from last year) and Pumking at Wegmans today.

If they make their Festbier and sell it outside of their 9+3 packs I'll share your enthusiasm.

I just saw Tucher Festbier on a shelf at a local store. I'm curious if it's from last year or this year. I couldn't find any date on it. Any guidance is appreciated.

EDIT: Never mind. I see this was answered up thread. The beer is from 2022. Horseshit. I bought it on faith. I normally check the bottom of the can, but I couldn't with this four pack because it's encased in cardboard packaging. Sucks. What's worse is that I regularly go to this store and haven't seen this beer on the shelves all year. I mean, I get it, who is thinking Oktoberfest in May? But that means they took it off the shelves at some point in the winter and put it aside with express purpose of it throwing it back on shelves in the hopes that some sucker (in this case me) would pick it up. Oh well, guess I'm not heading back to that store any time soon.

Take it back. Call them out. You're right -- that's horseshit. Especially if they're selling it at full price.

Could be the retailer, could be the distro with leftover stock from last year.

I don't know. I feel like this is on me. I had noticed a lot of other really old beer on my recent trip, so I was foolish to have the faith that the Oktoberfest would be fresh. This store has had a good reputation over the years, so I didn't think they'd put out year-old Oktoberfest. Fool me once kind of a thing, ya know? But I won't be going back, that's for sure. Too bad for them too, as they have a very good whisky selection and I've bought stuff there before.

If they have a good rep they should be appalled that they have old stock on the shelves. If it was me, I'd take it back and explain the dating to them. I've done it a lot, especially when the beer was bad.

Some places are very responsive, some are not. I don't go back to those who are not.

That's my bad guys. I was being slack and called them 16 oz. Those are 16.9 or 500ml in the imported German cans.
