Can you taste a big difference between the Spaten and Löwenbräu? Since they're brewed under the same roof, I have to wonder if they shuffle the recipe at all.

Not a big difference between these beers but they are still different. IMO Löwenbräu has a hoppier presence while Spaten is "just" well balanced.
TBH Löwenbräu is my least favorite Oktoberfestbier

After my discouraging experience with B and C liquors I went back to my most frequented and reliable spot (High Spirits in the Whole Foods plaza on north main st in providence). They had Oktoberfests from Zero Gravity and Notch. I was very excited to find the one from Notch and grabbed s four pack. I’m not sure how much they got, but I’m confident that store will do things right with the fall beers.

Looks like I'll be heading to Nikki's Liquors soon to see what they have. All the liquor stores in the state are pretty lame anyway. Yankee Spirits in Attleboro destroys them all.

I think Yankee's selection is great, but sometimes they have some old, like really old beer on the floor. It's frustrating. I still go there, but Nikki's and High Spirits usually have everything I'm looking for. They are so close to one another that if I pop into one, I pop into the other too, ha.

Still, very very slim pickings for fall beer in RI so far and I dont think its a RI issue because as I said, last year I saw quite a bit of them showing up the last week of July and as of today those same stores dont have anything. I went to several large liquor stores the past few days that had zero fall beers. I dont know why they are so slow this year to get this stuff in.

Dogfishhead Punkin Ale. Maybe you dont like it but last year I saw it available the last week of July and it was my first fall beer of the season and the same store or any other store Ive been to in the past week doesnt even have it yet. Its really strange.

A fairly big splash of Oktos, Marzens & Festbiers showing here in the twin cities. The 2023 Sierra Festbier is kikass.

Nice! Da Boss and i went to the Rock HOF yesterday and we stopped at Hofbrauhaus Cleveland for a late lunch and several half-liter pours. Got to enjoy their Dunkel and Fest bier on tap, so good! Seating for 1000 in their multiple indoor spaces and outdoor space; i could see this place rocking and rolling on an event night in Downtown Cleveland!
    Cheers!

Picked up a sixer of Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier earlier today at a local grocer. Packaged L178W (27 June 2023). Thank you very much! I admit I did check the date code a couple times to ensure it was not a V (2022) as the distributor is not the most trustworthy based on prior experience.

Nabbed Manhattan Project's Oktoberfest canned 7/23/23. Sounds like there'll actually be a second wave of distribution this year due to demand so that's nice for us.

I've seen Hofbraü Oktoberfestbier all over the place which is a surprise as it's usually one of the last imports I see in Dallas every year.

So...this thread is pretty much "Oktoberfest Beer Sightings (2023)" huh?

Not our fault, really...I wish I was seeing more brown ales, porters, doppelbocks, etc...but on the shelves around me, it's all "sours", haze bois, West Coast IPAs, & Mexican lagers with lime...plus a shit ton of Oktoberfests. Pretty sure every brewery is just trying to win shelf space with these Oktos, but otherwise "fall" beers don't really seem to be anywhere.

    Just one idiot's opinion.

Oktoberfests are likely the most prevalent for fall beer in the craft beer world today.

Outside of that, it's just pumpkin ales and Wet Hop IPAs no?

Yeah things like Southern Tier's Harvest Autumn IPA don't have as much competition anymore and it's mostly Oktoberfest and Pumpkin beers. This is fine with me, as IPAs have year round shelf space so a change of pace is nice.

    Breckenridge - Autumn Ale

Been a long time since I’ve had, heck I don’t even know if it comes around here anymore but I’ll check.

    Long Trail - Harvest

One that still shows up each year.

Starting to see more local offerings. Picked up these today. Two of the better Oktoberfest Marzens made in GA. New Realm Brewing Bavarian Prince 6.3% and Tucker Brewing Co. Tucktoberfest 5.5%
