That's a good question. A little of each reason, tho not specifically any aging intention. In general just kept drinking through them and buying more. A few stragglers made it into the new year.

I did host a big Okto party that accounted for at least a third of total expenditure. I also went way overboard just drinking lots of them daily, and expanding one of my fave style's count with several new me märzens. Love the stuff.

    Cheers!

I saw Masthead Brewing Oktoberfest out of Cleveland at the store today. Surprising they beat the bigger brewers to the shelves first in my area.

Warsteiner, Weihenstephaner, Masthead and Wolf's Ridge arrived this week in CLE, so we picked up today to join our growing collection already of Paulaner (x2), Hacker and Fatheads (not shown in this fridge).

Love me some Oktoberfest biers. Marzen. Festbier. All of it. Weihenstephaner Festbier is usually my first selection of the "season". Won't be drinking it right away. Just always like to make sure I have some on hand (looking out for the canned version). Local versions start coming out mid to late August. I usually grab some Sam Adams, Victory and one of my favorite Marzen style beers Highland Brewing Clawhammer.

A bit late reporting however I saw my first Pumking of the season with this year's date last week in Price Chopper in Webster, MA.

First fresh Oktoberfest I've found in Cincinnati. Gonna pair well with the brats and sauerkraut I'm having for dinner tonight :sunglasses:

The week started with the sighting of Warsteiner at a store with a great selection of local and imported beers, but it was with the best buy date in 2022 :slight_frown:

On the same day, the beer buyer at a local supermarket which always brings Oktos and Pumpkin beers promised to start stocking up in a couple of weeks. Still, just two days later Spaten Oktoberfest bottles from 10/22 and Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier cans from 4/23 showed up. Spaten is still not to my liking, while Paulaner still tastes excellent.

Not at all seasonal, but it was a pleasant surprise to find Trumer Pils at a local bodega. As of today, it is available all over the place. This pilsner is fantastic.

Hopefully some NJ distributor follows suit; they had a “request us” thing on their site once.

    I guess my request wasn’t enough :slight_frown:

FWIW -- saw Paulaner Festbier, Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest Märzen, and Founders Okto at an independent retailer today.

In bigger news -- the same place has Spaten Okto bottled in June. The local distro must have raised hell after last year.

Finally saw that Manhattan Project is canning their Oktoberfest as of 3 days ago and it'll begin appearing towards the end of this week/beginning of next. It may be the first Oktoberfest I see on the shelves because still nothing for me up to this point.

Toured Mills River this past Friday and it is in their Gift Shop for sale, a colab with Kehrwieder out of Hamburg. I believe it had a July 11ish canning date.
    Cheers!

How would the US cope without Pumpkin Ales? Hmmmm.,.

Epic Brewing in Salt Lake City got the Imperial Pumpkin Porter and Barrel-Aged Imperial Pumpkin Porter coming out.,. available in August.,.

I see they ditched the 22 for those beers. Hopefully it comes with a price adjustment but I doubt it. I bought the barrel-aged version a couple of years ago for $18. It wasn't bad but definitely was not a beer worth paying that much for. I'd probably pay like $5 for it but I feel like it'll still be in the double digits.

Either or both of these I'd pick up instantly. Epic has disappeared around SE VA but I know Moyock in NC still sees it.
