In 2003 Larry Bell had a presentation at the National Homebrewers Conference. He stated that he was now an executive and had not brewed in several years. He did brew some wackey beers in his kitchen for the presentation.

At the Bell's brewery there is a the director of brewing operations, John Mallett, who is highly respected in the industry. I don't think he does much brewing these days.

The head brewer at Founders is Jeremy Kosmicki.

No one has mentioned Jason Oliver from Devil's Backbone, lots of awards for making lagers.

Eric Bean from Columbus brewing just got a few GABF medals for his IPA and DIPA.

Certainly add Mr. Geary to the list as a pioneer, but that does not diminish what Shaun had done for the New England craft brewing world. It does not have to be one or the other- it can be both.

someone should start a brewers or beer hall of fame. Anyone remember Richie Stolarz who pioneered bringing Belgiums to the US, taught a college course that turned wanna be wine snobs into beer lovers and started the late, great Beers International and who was buddies with Michael Jackson and have him speak in VFW halls in NJ. Now that's a pioneer.

Definitely need Tod Mott on the list. Between Harpoon IPA (way back when) and Kate the Great, he created two legendary beers on the east coast.

Dan Carey of New Glarus has to be on any most famous brewers list.

What's funny is that my buddy and I were up to Hill Farmstead and there were hundreds of people in line, and Sean Hill walked in and out of the line to the front many times, and no one seemed to notice. Came in a few times, poured himself a beer, walked back out. I had recognized him from a few articles I had read. Little guy. If he's 5'6" he's lucky

I don't know why his height mattered in that statement...it's just a little trivia for you, I guess

Greg Koch isn't a brewer. If you're going to have a Stone brewer it should be Mitch Steele.
