For anyone that's purchased a chope from Etre or BIAB, what diid you pay for it (incl. shipping)? Have a lead on one and want to see if its even in the same ballpark.
Shipping is always going to be the big bogey on overseas orders, and Etre charges a baseline shipping cost that is fairly high. My recollection is that they were about €15+ shipping.
Thanks... I guess I'm more curious about what the mug itself cost. Figured shipping would be high, of course.
Oh really...and I just re-read your message before, now I see you put the price plus shipping...my b.
I'm really interested in getting one of these as well. A few general questions: 1. Do other breweries make these kinds of ceramic tankards? If not now, did they historically? 2. Were they / are they a regional thing? That is, was there a certain area known for them and / or a style of beer that they were most commonly used for? On the last point, I imagine it was "farmhouse" stuff generally but I'd love to know any historical info.
They look real good. But how do they taste? Does anyone actually like drinking out of them rather than glass?
I was able to acquire one recently. I don't mind drinking out of it, although I wouldn't make it my everyday vessel. Fun every once in a while.
