This one seems to be somewhat difficult to gauge. Not super-popular and it's hard to tell what trades were actually completed with it. I know it's pretty damn rare, but I'm wondering how rare? What Midwest/Michigan stuff could get this done?

    Thanks.

I described the bottle as tasting like barbecue chips. Not in a good way. I know the guy who opened it traded some good stuff (GI variant multiples I believe). We had a good laugh over that trade while I poured out half my glass.

I thought the one I had was very good, tasted like a very well done saison. Not really "extra sour," actually kind of fruity, with a bit of fantome-esque funk. No off flavors at all, but we all know there's a good bit of bottle variation with Fantome. I traded my 2nd bottle for a Murda'd Out Stout

As the one who brought the chips to the party, I would avoid this at all costs. I had high expectations, and this was the 2nd worst beer of the night. It had no funk, no sour, nothing redeeming. It just tasted musty. Highly disappointing.

Glad you enjoyed them, like to keep my partners happy, lol. That was actually my first non-IP trade (other than glassware) so I wanted to make sure I did a good job.

I traded for it a few times actually, besides the Murda'd Out Stout I also got one for 2xBCBCS and another for a Black Note 750 (before they dropped a metric shit ton of the 12oz bottles).

My experience with Extra Sour has been mixed. The first bottle I had was far and away the best saison that I've had since Mimosa. The second bottle had a bready funk that was really unpleasant. Hopefully the last bottle is a winner, but I probably won't crack it for another year to let it sour up a bit more.

I'm 3 for 3 with that beer, delicious every time.

Personally, I don't think it's a bad beer, but I do agree that with a name like Extra Sour, I was expecting much more.

I kind of wanted opinions on what could reel this in, not how good/bad it is.

There were only about 480 bottles released in the U.S. It was distributed to premier Shelton accounts. Some mix of Loons might do it, but this was a one-time brew, so it's all going to depend on what the people who still have some are looking for.

I have three bottles. I have traded away probably 7 total since August. I have traded them for Coolships, Bruery bottles and a Black Note 750. Most recently, I had a trade worked out for a Chocolate Rain, but it fell thru. Hope this helps.
