Is there anywhere in Massachusetts or southern New Hampshire/Vermont that has either Fantome or Cantillon somewhat regularyl? Sadly in CT, it is not possible to get either of these, but would be willing to travel for sightings.
Neither of the two sit on the shelf very long when they do come in. I have personally never seen Cantillon on the shelf, but I'm new to the game too. I've had good luck with Fantome in the past few months but it also sells quickly, it's a small brewery and not much is shipped to the US. Julio's and Craft Beer Cellar, possibly Yankee Spirits as well. All in Mass.
Fantome is in NY at DeCicco's Brewster and Ardsley. A few diffrent varieties, but not Extar Sour or Saison.
I've seen Fantome recently at Streetcar and Boston Wine Exchange. But I think they are from a recent and infrequent shipment as you won't find Fantome regularly on shelves.
Fantome is easily found. It can come and go depending on specifically what style you're looking for, but it's not hard to find with a couple phone calls. I don't think I've ever seen it out of stock at Granite in Weymouth. Cantillon - good luck. Either you get lucky by being in the right place at the right time, or its not happening.
I was at Granite Liquors last week. They had plenty of the regular saison, printemps (spring), and hiver (winter). They also have a few Drie Fonteinen on the shelves as well. And as cbeer88 said, I have never not seen Fantome at Granite.
Thanks for input guys, and yeah, i know im not going to find cantillon easily, just more for stores that do get it in, as i am not farmiliar with stores beyond the border. Decciocos, i took the last bottle of the regular fantome a couple months ago, as well as a bottle of printemps not too long ago, looking for regular or more varieties mostly. Deciccos is my go to beer place, as I run a store in CT and can get anyting available here, but alot of good imports are missing, like all of shelton brothers stuff.
Redstone's in Stoneham had the Hiver and Printemps on the shelves last weekend. Also 3 types of Drie Fonteinen, including the Golden blend. Cantillon is more luck of the draw, and they do a ticket draw for it.
I picked up a Fantome De Noel last night at Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge (close to the CT boarder), but it was the only type of Fantome they had. they also had Drie Fonteinen Golden Blend on the shelf.
If you end up in Waterbury/Montpelier region, Hunger Mountain usually has SOME fantome. Last I was there it was only Hiver, but sometimes they have a selection.
^I got the last Hiver later that day, actually, but who is to say they haven't restocked it? As has probably been stated, in VT Hill Farmstead, Hunger Mountain, and Bevy Warehouse all stock Canti and Fantome on occasion, but they never sit around long.
