This isn't something I would buy for myself, but a local bottle shop just got these in, and the reviews are literally all over the place on this one. Is this good trade ammo? What kind of stuff could I expect to ask for in return? Or should I just let it sit for someone who really wants it? Or does anybody really want it?
I assume some people would be on the lookout for it. I would say it trades $4$ with other somewhat limited shelf beers.
Probably trade with us poor Pacific Northwest fools since we seem to be the only market that didn't get this beer.
For those in the know, the label and cork status will be huge player in valuation. The seafoam green "new" label with the gloss on it has the smoke/latex profile that has been rumored to take upwards of 9 months to resolve. If it is a dull paper label/old style font/doesn't contain the fantome paragraph on the back it is likely valued much higher. That elusive no cork 2005 Printemps for the win, Tastes like Sierra Mist, bomb.biz.
Thanks for this. Just moved and found a shit load of Fantome at a local bottle shop, was curious about the printemps, but scared shitless on pulling the trigger based on the "uneven" reviews.
Uneven reviews are Fantome in a nutshell. You simply never know whether you're going to get a good bottle or a bad bottle of anything they do. (Or even the right beer in the bottle) To the OP - it's tradeable, but not going to land you more than locals.
