I'm a bit surprised no one has mentioned the bottle issue yet. The whole [stated] reason Green Flash switched to those heavy proprietary 4-packs was to market Rayon Vert:

"Everything from the 2010 re-design of Green Flash’s distinctly heavy 12 oz bottle (which can withstand the high levels of natural CO2 conditioning associated with Belgian Ales) to the choice of packaging as a four-pack rather than a traditional six, are decisions the brewery made in preparation to release Rayon Vert."

Maybe I'm just being curmudgeonly, but as both retailer and consumer, I really miss $10.99 6-packs of West Coast IPA.

Excellent. It's so much nicer when breweries don't squabble over silly things like that.

good riddance. Bought this while passing through Atlanta for $4 for a four pack could not pass it up. What I received was an overly carbonated beer that was at least 50-60% foam no matter how I poured the bottles

    AHH. WHAT?

This may mark the first time I've ever intentionally gone out to stock up on a beer. I love Rayon Vert. On the other hand, am I the only one intrigued by the 500ml option?

Oh well. I've bought Rayon Vert in the past and will continue to do so in the future, as long as it's brewed.

It's definitely a foamy beer, but if you take the time to pour it, you're rewarded with one of the best brett-ed beers on the market (AND the guy said he's working on the carb issue. What more do you want?).

Ever poured an Orval? You can't do it much quicker than an RV, and it's half the cost. USA!.. USA!.. <fist pump>

Probably, what do you find intriguing about it?

who said hes working on the carb issue? it should of never been an issue to start with...I guess working on it means discontinuing it. I would like to drink what your drinking to think any beer is OK to foam over half of it every time.

    4pack for $10.99 = $16.48 a 6pack .....which you would only get 3 12oz beers out of

no, orval you can pour.....Rayon Vert you open and it will starting foaming out the top before you pour it, its not comparable

Oftentimes I find it to be a better serving size for my consumption patterns, is all. I like that more breweries are putting things in 16.9oz/500ml bottles.

That said, I fully understand and appreciate the discussion(s) regarding the changing price:volume ratios when breweries shift packaging formats. And on that note, while I am "intrigued" (but that's about it) by the possibility of Rayon Vert in 500ml bottles, I still have always been thrilled by the value of Rayon Vert at its 4-pack pricepoint.

Eh never a big fan of GF outside of Double Stout, this beer included. Even last yr's PW was sub par IMO.

For some reason that's a beer I pass over far too often when I'm snagging something to drink. Equal parts brett and hop fix and a brew I wonder why I don't purchase more often when I do get it. Now I have a craving.

Always had a full pour. It does get a big head but it settles and you do not need to pour it all at once. Never had it foam out like a Jolly Pumpkin beer. Still half the price of Orval.

    Enjoy
