I'm going to be in Farmingdale NY for 2 days starting tomorrow. I wanted to see if there were any places I needed to visit while there. I live in NJ so anything I don't normally have in my distro I should seek out would be welcomed advice as well as a place to eat when I want to get out of the hotel. Thanks!

Barrage brewery is a tiny little place in farming dale but their Moore Nelson is amazing. Unfortunately they are open th, f s and s.

I would check out good life in Massapequa. Great food and beer. Depending on how far you want to travel there are plenty of options.

I second @cornontherob with his Barrage recommendation and the Good Life is solid, but The Republic is right on Main St. in Farmingdale if you're really trying to stay local. They usually have solid taps and their food is pretty good for pub fare. Croxley Ales is right across the street and they have a ton of taps, but IMO has fallen off big time and I really don't enjoy going there anymore. If you're into cigars, there's a really good shop right there too.
There's a Superstar Beverage just north of Sunrise Hwy a town away in Amityville on Rte 110 if you're looking for a bottle shop.

There is a brewpub called Black Forest or something like that. German beers of unknown quality. In Farmingdale

I agree. You are in Farmindale why go to GoodLife in Massapequa? Lots of great bars right on Main Street as mentioned: Republic usually has some good stuff on tap, Croxleys, The Library (food), there is a small place next to The Republic called "A Taste of Long Island that sells only LI stuff, almost like a farmers market in a strip store. They have 4 different nano breweries on tap and sell growlers of them too. (Opens on Wednesday at 10:00 am I believe.)

Yeah, this too. I also think they've fallen off a bit, beer-wise, but if you like German food you can't go wrong. Sometimes they do have pretty above average German styled beers but I haven't been there in awhile. One thing, they're kinda in the middle of nowhere (industrial park) so you'll have to drive there and make sure you have a GPS or something of that nature.

Croxley's is good, but like I mentioned, I think the overall quality of the place has dropped off, big time. They're pretty good about updating their beermenus page, so if you see some brews you like, it is worth checking out.

I like Press 195, they have good food and brews. I'd check out beermenus.com for what's available in the local shops. If you feel like driving a bit go down to Barrier in Oceanside. I'd say they're the best brewery on long island and they have a food truck there.

I second Press if you have the time to drive to Rockville Centre.

Head to the Republic if you haven't already. Right in the area on Main Street in Farmingdale, and the have Cigar City Maduro Vanilla, and Two Roads Conntucky Lightnin on tap; neither I think you get in NJ.
