Fat Heads Bottle Date Question

Yes they do. Like most bottle dating though, it can easily rub off or be difficult to read. It will be a Bottled On date on the neck of each bottle.

 

They do. Any Sunshine Daydream she finds will be fresh as it was bottled for the first time last month.

 

Go to the bar on the southside. They have a place upstairs where you can buy beer.

 

Is there a similar place at the Ohio brewpub? I'd like to know which bottles are available before heading up there... would love some Sunshine Daydream, JuJu, HH, and Trail Head if available in cans yet.

 

Yes, the cases are more clearly marked. If buying in Ohio, go to the Tap House for bottles.

 

When I was at Fat Heads last week, the bottle shop was under construction. Might be fixed up now though. On the outside of the case is a bottled on date as well, not just the bottles.

You can get Head Hunter by the case at pretty much every beer distro around Pittsburgh though as long as it's not one of the shit grab and go places that don't do craft beer at all. I can buy a case of it at probably 4-5 different distros within a stones throw of my apartment north of the city.

 

Yeah probably. They always have bottles of Head Hunter, Bumbleberry, and now probably Sunshine. I'm actually going their shortly for lunch. I usually end up leaving with more beer then I planned because they often have a good selection of other beers aside from their own.

 

This beer was delicious imo. One of the better "session" beers out there.

 

It kind of just depends on which part of the city she's in but yeah, the price is going to be about the same everywhere give or take a few dollars. If she can make it to the restaurant down on the South Side that's where I'd tell her to go first. If they don't have any for some reason I'd just check the distros that are closest to where she's staying. It shouldn't be very hard at all to find.

 

It's funny...my childhood farmer's market has somehow re-entered my life years later. The world is pretty cosmic sometimes.

If she's going to the restaurant/bar on E Carson there is a place called Buddy's two blocks up the street that has cases of fresh Head Hunter bottled 4-9-14. Just visited both last weekend. Bottle shop/ gift shop upstairs at Fat Heads is being redone, they have merch and limited bottles of their stuff ( Head Hunter, Sunshine Daydream, Bummbleberry, Oompa Loompa) not bad pricing for mix a six if you want to try their other offerings. Great spot, with great food and an incredible tap list.
