Was wondering if the cans are anywhere in or near Denver? Headed up from C Springs and looking to get some. Thanks
It's so bad in the can. I could not take more than one sip, my girlfriend couldn't take more than one sip, and I gave one of the other cans to a friend daring him to drink more than one sip. He wouldn't. All four cans were drain pours. You've been warned.
People seem to either love or hate that beer. It might be the most divisive beer in the entire metro area. I hate watermelon and most fake Koelsch beers, so that's an easy one for me.
I called Total Bev in Westminster and they said they had some can pressure issues with their recent batch, but expecting to get some fresh cans next week. I've only had it at the South Denver beerfest last year and thought it was fine, especially for the warmer days coming up. The wife loves it so more for her.
I should try it before I post this-- but the ideas of "watermelon" and "Kolsch" seem mutually exclusive to me. Might be genius though, but on the other hand, it's likely I never find out that it's genius, if it is...
I've never had this nor does it sound good. I also would never trust anything that arrogantb writes as its usually garbage and negative. . He is a troll at best.
That's cool that you don't care for the style, but have you seen it around? I enjoyed the guy with the cane in 3rd Bass by the way.
I wish it had more watermelon flavor, but it's a good summer beer. Found a 4 pack at Total Beverage westminster.
@usbmullet I've seen it all over in boulder. Hazels had it and saw it at b town liquor another place in Lafayette I believe had it also but can't remember the name of the place
There is no watermelon beer other than 21st Amendment's Hell Or High Watermelon. All others are inferior. Luckily they were at Burning Can and so was Fate so got to taste them side by side. No fucking contest!
Hibernal Dichotomous from Jester King was phenomenal. I would put that above any watermelon beer for sure.
Verboten (Loveland) came out with a Watermelon Gosa that was awesome. I would put it up against 21st Amendment's Hell or High Watermelon Wheat any time.
I wish I could have tried that on my recent trip, that sounds good. I really liked the Fate watermelon kolsch a lot after adding salt to the beer. I usually eat my watermelon with some salt.
I could not believe how much watermelon flavor was packed in that beer. It's for sure one of the best watermelon beers around.
