I don't know the details, but Jeff Erway (owner/brewer of La Cumbre) has good blog and he is on this site as well (@erway). He loves the technical side of beer so drop him a note, I'm pretty sure he will give you some tips.

Again, very jealous! It seems I truly have bad timing this year... I'll be a single Dad that weekend with my wife out of the country. I don't suppose anyone is going to any of the Bierbörse this summer? I try to make the Karlsruhe version every year.

Have fun in Dallas! I was lucky enough to try a few beers from that area when I was in Austin earlier this month. I especially loved Deep Ellum brewery: both the IPA and the Double Brown Stout were outstanding. And the Franconia Dunkel that I had, from McKinney, was also excellent. I wish I had managed to find a couple of their other beers. Well, maybe next trip... Either way, enjoy!

We busted out the French press at work yesterday and pushed some Cascade leaf hops through a can of Elevated IPA. I wasn't blown away by the results, but there was a bit of a difference between the pre-randall and post-randall beers. As expected, the post-randall beer had a slight fresh/floral hop aroma and flavor. It put a bit of hop color on the one year old beer's dry/bitter canvass.
I'm sure that neither the pre nor post randall beers hold a candle a freshly packaged Elevated IPA, but it wasn't a bad way to breathe a little bit of life into an old IPA.

Here's one of my coworkers at the helm of the "Randall"

Use an Aeropress instead, I find it imparts a lot more flavor, perhaps due to the pressure?

I'm working on getting some fresh.
