Agreed! There seem to be more now then a year or two ago, so I think we are heading in the right direction. There is a local brew pub in here in Ottawa (The Clocktower) that makes a pretty good berliner weisse and there is always Solstice d'Été.

Great to see some real German Kolsch making it to Vancouver and at the government store to boot.

For me it's been a lot of Red Racer IPA with some Denison's/Side Launch mixed in as well. I also really enjoyed Limp Puppet from Great Lakes when I had it at the Loose Moose, just wish the brewery was a little more accessible for me... oh well

I found Oast House Saison and Blonde du Chambly to be both, highly agreeable beers this summer.

Tried Detour and found it pretty drinkable but it's more expensive than Red Racer ISA and Hop Therapy ISA which are both really great. I also think Pacific Western's Kolsch is really good and worth a try if you can find it .

Funny, if you asked me what I'd be drinking in the summer at the beginning of the year, I'd have told you I'd mostly be doing growler fills at Brassneck and the other nearby breweries. However, in my inability to keep up with great bottle releases over the past few months, I'm drinking more stout and big beers than I intended. I am, however, drinking a lot of saisons too, Upright especially. And Four Winds Juxtapose, IPA, and Phaedra while available. My go-to on short notice is still Brassneck though, whatever's available that's good!
