Will all the events going on and opportunities to try amazing beer I thought it would be interesting to hear what some of the favorites were. If I had to chose I'd go with the bourbon county vanilla rye. I could have drank that all night. The melvin fresh hopped 2x4 was damn near perfect.

New Glarus Vintage 2015 or Funky Buddha Morning Wood

(close 2nds- J Wakefield Miami Madness or Small Town NYFRB 10.7%)

Melvin was good, but I was actually a little let down... I've only been hearing the hype for the last year so maybe my expectation was too high.

I went on Thursday and agree the Fresh Hop Melvin 2x4 was awesome. Had a full pour of 2x4 (not fresh hop) at Falling Rock after the festival. So damn good!

Anyone know if any places around town still have fresh hop 2x4?

Morning Wood was my favorite beer of the night too.

Before that it was either Red Angel or Vanilla Rye.

Ballast Point's Red Velvet Cake was pretty much cake in a glass.

Sip of Sunshine, Space Cake, Battle Priest, Pentagram, The Dissadent.

I thought morning wood was very strange. I only dumped 3 beers all night.

Vanilla Rye for sure. They poured BCBCS as a surprise yesterday around 6:45, and the VR blew it away. Sip of Sunshine was great.

Cannonball Ck Project Alpha #4 for hoppy, Deschutes Black Butte Cubed for heavy, New Glarus Bramble Barrel whatever for fruity/tarty, Live Oak Grodziskie for light, and Rhinegeist Sherry Ink for weird but wonderful.

Loved that Goose Island brought the heat - and it never ran out! Best secret was the state brewers' guilds. Cheers to Michigan for pouring KBS all night long, and having ZERO lines pretty much the whole time.

I thought the nbb erics ale was awesome, and obviously everything from the rare barrel.

Am I the only one who enjoyed regular 2x4 more than the fresh hop? Went back second night just to make sure.

I'm curious about this as well. Had the regular 2x4 at the Hops and Pie event last Wednesday but would love to try the fresh hop version.

Scratch Brewing's Single Tree: Hickory blew me away, along with the rest of their beers. Funky Buddha was great, as were Melvin and J Wakefield and Upland and Destihl. I have to say, though, I was a little disappointed by Sip of Sunshine.

MacLeod Ale Brewing was a random English style place that I went back a couple times.
