They're straight up killing it. When you get around to trying it, definitely let it warm up to about 55 or 60 degrees - brings out some great nuanced flavors

Okay thanks , you know i have to ask for Tropicalia , they dont even put the three cases they get out on the shelf. Im only allowed two 6 packs. Tropicallia is unofficially 128 on the top 250 beers rated.

Great Lakes Nosferatu is my clear cut favorite in this category. Perfectly balanced.

Ambers and Reds are not the same.
Bell's Amber for an Amber Ale.
I don't know of any widely distributed Red Ales...

Really? Never had any trouble getting a few sixers whenever I go down to Athens. $9.99 at Five points bottle shop usually. I just want them to make Cosmik Debris a year-round brew

Huge difference between a classic Amber Ale and an Imperial Red Ale.. I always felt they should have their own category on this site.. just my two cents..

I agree. Which serves as a caveat to my list that I would say is more of the red IPA style:

    GF Hop Head Red
    GL Nosferatu
Founder's Redankulous (which I am currently drinking and is awesome)

Full disclosure: haven't had Nugget Nectar within 6 mos of bottling date. Disregard my list as you see fit.

Both of those are great reds. I was shocked when NB stopped brewing Red Hoptober.

Based on my ratings, Nugget Nectar and Lagunitas Imperial Red in a tie, followed very closely by Maine's Zoe. That being said, my favorite and go to in this style is Highland's Gaelic Ale.

    Rogue Capt. Sig's Northwestern Ale
&...another vote for Great Lakes Nosferatu

I always thought that the Panama Limited red ale from Flossmoor Station was the best. Its recipe keeps changing. Currently it's what I remember.
