Yeah, a shame that it's not from the US (to meet the requirement of this poll), as to me, it's clearly the best stout in the world under 7%.

This poll is very interesting, as it points out an interesting contrast between stouts and IPAs (and Pale ales). There are many more IPAs and pale ales that are under 7% that I would personally consider to be world class (like Pseudo Sue).

And don't get me wrong, I love stouts. But as I think about the 100+ I have chillin in the basement, they're all 9-19.2.

Vanilla Oatis Oatmeal Stout by the Ninkasi Brewery in Eugene, Oregon. It's right at 7%. I also really like Deschutes' Obsidian Stout. Oregon features some amazing stouts.

This is just me, but Thirsty Dog's Old Choco mint milk stout at around 5.5% ABV hit the spot for me. Fitz is always lovely, but is technically a porter.

Seems there are fewer "stouts" under 7%, since traditionally they are the first runs, and most potent with fermentable sugars, of the mash. I understand that's not always how it works nowadays. It could, by some generous degree, be like asking "whats your favortite imperial IPA under 7%"

I have a ton of porters I love! But technically none qualify or are labeled as a stout :/
