    The underside of that Ballantine XXX Ale crown looked like this:

    (The so-called Crown Tickler puzzles from Falstaff-General-Pearl weren't a feature on Ballantine caps until after Falstaff bought the brand in '72. :wink:).

    According to my abacus, you will need almost 2300 caps for this if you are butting them up against each other in a grid! Are they all going to be pushed together or will there be space between? It took me ten plus years to get that many. Of course, that was pre-internet and pre-the-good-beer-explosion that started about 25 years ago...

    ^Fässla, a brewery in Bamberg, Germany. The -la ending is a dialect version of the diminutive form, so "Fässla" is a little keg/barrel. This brewery is directly across the street from Spezial and about a 5 minute walk from Schlenkerla's tavern, which itself is about a 2 minute walk from Klosterbräu. Mahr's and Keesman are an unbearable 15 minutes or so by foot.
