Winter in Florida is 70 degrees. On the rare occasion that it dips below that, I'll reach for a porter or stout, preferably a Victory at Sea or Peche Mortel.

We're getting pretty close to the season for Celebration so that's one that I always have on tap at the house. Along with that the beer fridge will be stocked with Barleywines, Stouts, Impy stouts, winter warmers, old ales and seasonal 12 packs.

I love the fall and winter seasons for beer!

Fall: Brown ales in particular. Sierra Nevada's Autumn Tumbler is an excellent brew. Winter: New Belgium's Snow day was pretty damn good. But overall, I like a thicker, stronger, malty beer in the colder months. I can never get myself to drink lagers during the winter, unless I'm at a get together and that is all there is to drink. But barleywines, chocolate stouts, chocolate porters, coffee stouts, imperial black ales/stouts, and certain spiced brown ales are the best during the winter. IPA's/double IPA's are great, too. But I usually start craving those toward the end of February just when there is an ever so slight feeling that spring will come, but it's still cold outside.
    Cheers!

I forgot to mention the Full Sail Wassail winter warmer holiday brew. That is a fine beverage, my friends! :grinning:

I will all styles throughout the year, I have been drinking “Avec les Bons Voeux” pretty much weekly during the last two years regardless of the season. RIS & Barley wine’s do seem quite appropriate for the season.

Christmas beers are usually come out at the end of the year, I try as many new ones as possible at the wonderful Christmas beer festival but there are few other than “Avec les Bon Voeux” or “Stille Nacht” and the likes that I bother revisiting, they do seem appropriate.

Also quite surprised no one has said Christmas beers so far.

Heavyweights like Imperial Stouts, Barleywines & Old Ales....anything with substantial maltiness and kicked up alcohol, great on a chilly evening.

What? That is terrible news!! I hope OSA is never discontinued!! I've seen people post pictures of this year's edition so I hope that these whispers of discontinuation are just horrible, horrible, rumors!!

Winter is the season for big strong beers like stouts and quads. Just like eating, I prefer my big hearty french toast and sausage breakfast in the Winter. Spring/Summer is when the IPAs come back
