With about 80+ beers at Hunahpu Day I was wondering what were your favorites or highlights from the event? I had about 30 and missed all the BA releases except Bourbon Big Sound. Here's my list:

    Blueberry muffin
    Smokabaga
    Hungarian oak peach IPA
    Patio Tools
    Topless Wytch
    Bourbon Big Sound
    TBC Honey Rye
    TBC oak aged Quad
    Marron Accidifie
    Hunahpu

I tried one called jelly donut and it tasted like parmesan cheese and sourdough bread. Probably the only brew I did not care for.

My favorite beer of the weekend was this random half-case of Hunahpu I found laying around at the release. Can you believe that? Free beer! Now that's some serious beer karma dividends...

    Cheers!

Aww, well now I feel bad. It seemed funny when this was originally posted in the General section. Now that it's been moved to South-Atlantic, it just feels mean.

I would say last snow, pineapple blonde, oak aged DL, and all of the Berliners that were on tap.

We could not believe how bad that was. Someone had spilled some on the ground and it smelled like cheese the rest of the day.

I'd have to say my favorite were (in no particular order)

    Miami Madness Berliner
    Cookies and Milk
    Palm Ridge Vuja De
    Oak Aged Dark Lord
    Angels Share

Also had some pretty awesome beers within our group

    For me...

    Funky Buddha's The Last Snow
    FFF Oak Aged Dark Lord
    CCB Blueberry Muffin
    Wakefield's PFDF Berliner Weisse
    CCB Palm Ridge Bohr/Dirac
    CCB 2012 Hunahpu

The Blueberry Muffin I think caught me the most off guard though. I tried this in the tasting room and promptly ordered a second almost immediately. I'm hoping they dust it off again sometime this year.

To address the concerns/extreme distaste for our Berliner, I would like to say first that I am sorry you had something you didnt like, nobody wants to drink bad beer and nobody really wants other people to drink it either.
I will say that when the keg was first tapped both myself and Kristina tasted the beer, it was delicious. Other people seconded our assessment and I never gave it another thought.
At some point during the keg, things went horribly wrong apparently.
Isovaleric is most likely the compound being perceived, and I will say that I most likely have a blind spot in my palate for it because I have been unable to pick it up in low levels, even when others have given me what amounts to spiked beers. That said, the levels detected by some must have been extreme and should have been addressed. Had anybody brought their concern to me that day, I would have untapped the keg immediately, either people were too polite or didn't notice or it was gone too fast and the entire keg was served. Beer like this is not up to my standards, and should not be accepted by you the consumer either.
I would like to offer anybody who was so displeased the opportunity to try the beer as it was intended, or at the very least have a tasty beer on me at Peg's. The next time I produce a berliner I will have several other people confirm it is up to standard, and will make this treatment again.
Please email Peg's at the address listed on our website, or me personally doug at cigarcitybrewing dot com, and I will arrange whatever I have to in order to put a beer that is up to my standards into your hands.

On a positive note, and slightly off of this particular topic, thanks to everybody who came out to Barrel Aged Day, I am fairly certain all of the BA offerings were up to snuff and I hope everybody had a great time. I appreciate all the bottles that were shared, and from all the staff, thank you for being patient with our tiny operation the response was more than we could have hoped for.

I loved the Double Jelly Donut on Saturday, thought it tasted very similar to the regular Jelly Donut on Friday afternoon with lunch. The iPorter and Batch 100 were also great, didn't even miss not trying the RareDos beers. I look forward to going to Peg's again next time I'm in town.

Doug, Friday night was a blast. All the ba beers were great. iPorter was my fav! I hope it's going down again next year.
It's real cool of you guys to stand behind your beers like this.
    Cheers!

I really, really, really liked the BA release... and I really, really, really, really, really hates the Jelly Donut. I'm giving Peg's a mulligan on that one because I've heard that when it is at it's potential it is amazing.
