I have to admit that my favorite is Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout- reasonable price, don't have to stand in line for 2 days to get it, and ages like the best of them. Cheers!

Either. The '10 was definitely more coffee forward but the '11 didn't have the touch of alcohol on the finish.

I've got to go with Central Waters Peruvian Morning. It may not have the body of some BA stouts, but I love the flavor and its high drinkability.

I wish they weren't so hard to find/expensive, but for now it's KBS with my very limited experience. Really would love to get my hands on some BCBS (and/or variants of it) to try it out. If I make some money maybe I'll pick up some Eclipse at $29 a bottle at my shop, or some barrel aged BORIS. Really the only examples I can get right now that I haven't had. Also hoping to get my hands on a Parabola this year.

There are so many great Bourbon Barrel Stouts, that I can't pick just one. Among my favorites are CBS, KBS, Rare, Parabola, '09 Black Tuesday, and the Abyss. I'm sure I accidentally forgot to mention a few.

I give a nod to Allagash black (the barrel aged version draft only) and I enjoyed KBS and

So far I have to go with Abyss with BA Old Raspy a close second. I've never had any of the Founders or GI's but from what I've had...these two always make me happy.

So says the label, yes, but once you're over 10% anything black and barrel-aged might as well be the same style. It certainly tasted a lot more like the other beers I listed than any non-barrel-aged RIS.

maybe so but I'll take Shaun's word on it being a porter still.

That's your prerogative; I'll just be thankful he brewed such an amazing beer and not worry about how to pigeonhole it.

KBS easily. It was one of my first and is still my favorite. Very few others come close, most being either bourbon/booze bombs with no stout characteristics left or have barely any barrel characteristics. KBS has the best balance of any barrel aged beer I've had.

Wait...I'm confused at what "favorite" means, because people are picking CW BBS & Peruvian Morning.

Rare of course...If your talking about an annual release easier to obtain, it's a toss up between Parabola and BCBS...
