There's just so many damn good bourbon barrel stouts out there. However, last week I had BB Plead the 5th for the first time on tap, and it's an amazing brew. It's definitely in the top tier!

Having tried all of these in the past two months, I'd rank them:
Bramble Rye BCBS -- LOVE the berry addition
Rare BCBS or 2011 BCBS -- both amazing, but not a huge difference to me
    Parabola
    Coffee BCBS
    Vanilla BCBS
    BA Plead the 5th
    CW BBS
Would gladly have any of these again, any day of the week. I had a small sample of KBS and wasn't wowed, but will have a bottle before passing judgment.

I haven't had many BBA stouts so I'm just going to list them all here in order from most enjoyed down to the least:

    BT '11 (aged 5 months)
    Silva Stout '11 (tapped fresh)
Ballast Point BBA Sea Monster '09 (tapped; aged 2 years)
    BT '11 (tapped fresh)
    Abyss '10 (tapped fresh)
Abyss '09 (tapped; aged 1 year)

had to put a gap here...
Moylans BBA Ryan Sullivan's (tapped fresh)

Looking forward to the BA BORIS and the Eclipses from my cellar.

But overall, 50/50 puts out the best BA Impy stouts around.

2009 BCS is drinking AMAZING right now.... I hear 4 years is the max on BCS before its just drops off. I had BA Plead the Option and it was awesome but the one that stands out most is BCS RARE!

I recently had a vertical of BCS going back to 2003, which was barely recognizable as BCS. But 2005, in comparison, was very good. So somewhere between 6-8 years it faded pretty badly.

I learned last night that Dogfather BBA Stout should be renamed Dogfarter or Dogwater....

Now now, it wasn't that bad. All I tasted from the barrels was the oak.

Woah.. almost a 4 year resurrection. Can't believe how young I was in the craft beer world I was back then. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Btw, happen to be drinking a BA Bomb right now and it's fantastic.

The best I've had so far is BA Dinosmores. I haven't had the opportunity to try many of the "big boys".

BCBS and KBS are about equal, imo. However, I have yet to try Parabola.
