We've enjoyed visiting several breweries; Lefthand, Oskar Blues, BrauKunstKeller, La Cumbre, Santa Fe Brewing Co, Chama River etc..

But our favorite thus far has been Brauhaus Faust in Miltenberg, Germany since it gives you a chance to see their operation up close and personal. Check out this thread for more details & pix:

The USA is an awful big country. Could you maybe help us out by telling us what region or regions you are thinking about?

I will echo another post, come on up to Michigan.

Bell's Brewery hands down for me. Nothing beats seeing that big, beautiful draught board in person.

A day in Ft. Collins, a day in Boulder, and a day in Denver. Multiple breweries all within walking/biking distance. Add a trip to Longmont to visit Left Hand and Oskar Blues. An epic brewery area.

Three Floyds. Awesome food, gnarly heavy metal playing in the background, and a great brewpub atmosphere. But if you ever katch yourself in Houston; Saint Arnolds is always fun.

Definitely do a New England beercation. Start in CT at New England Brewing, head up to southern western Mass for Treehouse and Wormtown, then make your way east to Boston for Nightshift, Trillium, several others. Then head up to VT for Lawsons, Alchemist, and HF, and then if time, Maine Beer Company and Bissell Brothers in Portland Maine area.

New Glarus hands down. I visit breweries for work, and as far as getting up close personal look at everything and having a great view and place to enjoy some great beer, IMO you can't beat it. Also, there are quite a few cool breweries to check out within driving distance of NG.

New Glarus is easily my favorite. Hard to pick a 2nd between Bells and Founders. Both have great outdoor spaces and a stellar draft list.

However, if you are up for a California trip then Firestone Walker was an awesome experience

Trips to Three Floyds are my favorite... from there, you can either head into Chicago for Goose Island, Half Acre, etc... or up into Michigan for Founders or Bells.

Also a big fan of the Stone Gardens, and while you're in the area you can hit up Ballast Point which has a pretty nice patio. I had a great time at Base Camp up in Portland las time I was there. On the east, I'm a big fan of the new Lost Nation taproom (and you can do HF while you're up there), in ME I quite enjoyed In'finiti, and in MA I really like spending time at the new Night Shift taproom and Cambridge Brewing Company. I also love sitting on the deck at Cape Ann, though not a big fan of many of their beers.

In the world? Tough to beat the breweries in Bamberg. The folks at Faessla were awesome to us, so they'll take the cake for me. Supposedly Cantillon is also amazing, so I look forward to hitting them up soon.
Here in the States I'm still a big fan of New Belgium. Their facility has a great mix of a cool tasting room combined with an excellent tour. Plus, because of their size you get to see things most small breweries don't have. QC labs, massive packaging operations, and just the logistics of running a place of that size. It's a nice mix of small and large, and the staff is great, too.

    So many great ones:
Had a great time last week at both Jack's Abbey and Wachusett.
Always a good time at 3Floyds brewpub,
    Likewise for Dogfish Head.
In Asheville, Wicked Weed, Wedge, Burial are exceptional.
And Hill Farmstead is a pilgrimage that all beer lovers should make.
Haven't spent much time of the west coast, but Russian River & Fifty/Fifty were marvelously memorable.

My family and I were in Reno and decided to do a road trip around Lake Tahoe and stop at all the breweries on the lake. There are 6 or so breweries on and around that lake and it is such a beautiful, fun, sometimes scary drive. Ended the Trip at FiftyFifty.

Besides that, we stopped at Dark Horse on the way to Founders once and really enjoyed that place. I'm from small town Wisconsin so Dark Horse felt like home.
