I highly recommend New Glarus. The town literally looks like a Swiss village, fabulous beer tasting, and then you can pop down the street to Glarner Stube for a bowl of meet and Swiss fondu followed by a visit to the worlds largest urinal (no joke).

Golden Colorado, Coors, because at the end of the tour, the beer was free, as much as I wanted, free and fresh, did I mention free?

Perennial artisan in St. Louis. Especially if you're lucky enough to catch them doing a side project release

Great Lakes Brewing Company. Any time I'm near Cleveland, it's a mandatory stop. There's almost always at least 2 experiments or casks that are brewpub-only on tap, and the place deservedly has 10 beers on the Beers Of Fame list. Throw in food like lamb shepherd's pie made with their Edmund Fitzgerald porter, and it's an all-around good experience. It's on the way towards Wisconsin and Michigan as well, if you're planning a route that direction.

I haven't been to many, but when I shop at the brew hut it is a must to pick up a growler or a pint at Dry Dock. There is always great to amazing beer on tap. I also enjoy Trinity brewing in Colo spgs. The food is awesome, and the beer is too. Great vibe, and did I mention the food and beer?
