I am going to go Old School and say Ballantine XXX, its budget enough for me and not a bad brew for what it is.

    Cheers

how about not spending money on beer if you need to save money?

$6.99 for a sixer is the cheapest craft I can find, and that's often Flying Monkey amber ale. Anything less than that tends to be swill, and anything more isn't really "budget" to me.

Narragansett's new Bohemian Pils. Awesome brew and I can get a 6 pack of 16oz. cans for like $8.

+1 to Sierra Nevada. Being able to pick up a 12 pack of their numerous choices for $12.99 is a great bargain.

Budget is almost ALL I DO. SA, SN, homebrew. In fact they had (4) 6 packs of Founder's porter at he store yesterday on the shelf I only bought 1, due to the price. its a good beer, But I still find I like the SN porter better. Lucky for my only expensive taste is my love of Orval and Rochefort. I do spring for a Dupont Saison every now and then. i save the Orval for my BD only, or wait until we save enough to go back to Belgium.

With many great choices mentioned and the average price of a good six pack going from $10-$12 where I live,
I'll give it to 21A's Bitter American which at $8.99 is a great beer all around

I agree that sam adams has an excellent price point at $9 a sixer. So does great lakes, victory& troegs. Saranac's white IPA is even less at $8.

A lot of NYC delis price all their beers around the same price. $10-$12 for a sixer, whether is a good beer or not.

The only time I will buy a really budget beer is when I go to a party out in New Jersey and buy Jersey house wine, aka a 30 pack of Miller Lite. This is the only cheap beer I can drink without getting a headache or the runs.

The left coast TJ cheap brews may be Bierch or FW, the right coast ones (Kennebunkport) are Shipyard, with all that implies.

I must be the only one unimpressed by this beer. I love Unibroue and would rather pay a buck more and get their actual top quality branded product in four packs rather than this weak tasting, fizzy stuff they turned out in mass quantities for Joe.

A supermarket near me routinely has Smuttynose FinestKind on sale for $10.99 per twelve pack, sometimes only $9.99.

Since a majority of my extra money goes to beer, I cellar A Ton & have plenty in the fridge, so when I'm low in cash I just stay in & drink. I have a better selection than any bar around here anyways lol.
