OK, I’ll bite: Why do you think that a can provides longer freshness?

    Cheers!

Cans actually do help out the freshness. They are completely air tight and keep out 100% of all light. Wel, until you open it anyways. Not saying it will last forever, but it does extend the freshness date of a beer.

“They are completely air tight and keep out 100% of all light.”

A properly capped bottle is air tight. A brown bottle stored in a case box is not exposed to light.

The exposure to light is a skunking issue not a staling issue.

In my opinion a properly canned beer and a properly bottled beer has the same shelf (freshness) life.

    Cheers!

My understanding is yes. When I stopped by the brewery they said it sells out almost instantly on site and at all the liquor stores it gets distributed to. That ones still bottled though.

Is it true though that the can does not have to be stored in a case box and the bottle does?

Storing the bottle in a case box is simply ‘extra’ insurance from light exposure. Brown glass does a pretty good job keeping UV light out.

In all honesty, the best place to store cans and bottles is in your refrigerator (if you have room for all of your beer). Cold and dark is a powerful 1-2 for extending shelf life.

    Cheers!

Yeah I just drank the beer straight from the can and it was refreshing but not anything special. I loved the ol skool churchkey gimmick. I would by it again just for shits and giggles.

I love the feel of the Maui can. The contents aren't fantastic, but the can itself just feels great in your hand.
