Looking for some recommendations on beers to try and pick up. Absolutely love chocolate stouts(with the exception of rogue for some reason, can't stand any of their beers...). Whats your favorite?

Get Long Trail Culmination before its off the shelves. They distribute to Virginia. Chocolate Porter not a stout but whatever.

Really enjoy Samuel Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout.

Glad I'm not crazy....It got a good review but theres just a weird taste to it for me...couldn't stand the chocolate or double chocolate.

No worries...one thread is about a year old and the other is a little off-topic from your question (i.e. Imperial Chocolate Stouts)... I just wanted you/others to be able to read all the comments in those past threads.

    Cheers,
    Brian

PS: Probably my favorite that hasn't been mentioned yet is Ommegang Chocolate Indulgence (although not technically a "stout", but a Belgian Dark Ale)

To be honest, I think Rogue's chocolate stout is excellent. Young's Double Chocolate is good, and Fort Collins Double Chocolate.

Choklat and Mokah from southern Tier are fantastic. Youngs Double Chocolate Stout was also really good and got me started on the style.

I second all the votes for Sam Smiths Organic Chocolate Stout

I also highly recommend Young's Double Chocolate - especially if you can find it on nitro

I agree with you on Rogue but the Double Chocolate is awesome. For some reason they were going for $5 a bomber and I bought a few.

Everyones entitled to their opinion! The double chocolate was definitely better than the regular one but I just wasn't a fan at all. Maybe my original experience made me biased. Just not a fan. Looks like Youngs and sam smiths is going to be a must pick up for me!

Just my .02 that the Youngs Double Chocolate Stout (which is my favorite) is best in the can with the Nitro Widget. Much creamier and better than the bottled version.
