When i was at K-State there was just Little Apple Brewing Co. Now my favorite would have to be Tallgrass.

People's and Lafayette Brewing Company both represent Purdue well, but LBC is my favorite. It was always a great dinner spot when your parents came to visit.

They've really come a long ways. I remember their first bottles with huge clouds of yeast balls and other trub in them. The beer was good then, but man, it needed some filtration. I miss their original wheat. I also miss Velvet Rooster - cheapest tripel anywhere, and better than most tripels available in KS. Their pub ale, pale ale, and stout are all great beers.

    Hmmmmm. Define college town?

I started my higher ed years at U of A (that's Arizona) in Tucson. I'm a huge Dragoon Brewing fan, so I'll toss that in there.

Transferred to Northeastern University in Boston so that's my next college town and there, well hell, Trillium is pretty awesome.

On to NYC where I did two different master's degrees (silly me) and there I'll give a shout out to Other Half, Gun Hill in the BX not far from Fordham (where I got an Master's in Early Childhood Ed) and Singlecut.

Boundary Bay Brewery: Classic PNW Ales
Chuckanut Brewery: Arguably the best Lager brewery in the country
Kulshan Brewing: A wide variety of ales, and some lagers, 2 locations
Aslan Brewing: A variety of all-organic ales and lagers
Stones Throw: The newest guys, making smooth, easy drinking ales
Structures: Less than 6 months old, nice Saisons and wilds, some NE style hoppy beers as well
Wander Brewing: Less than 2 years old and already multi GABF medals, a wide variety of ales, bbl-aged stuff, wilds, and fruit beers.
Menace Brewing: nano producing whatever idea gets into their head

We've got a couple more on the way too!

I agree with Odells in FoCo. New Belgium may be more popular and places like Funkwerks are fun, but all local beer lovers know that Odells makes the finest widely available beer in town.

Good brewery, but didn't exist yet when I went to Cornell. It was hard to find any good beer there back then. The dives we frequented are all closed now apparently.
