For me probably Funkwerks Saison and Trinity Oh! Face. Crooked stave did this awesome version of Surette with Tarragon Kombucha once, I thought that was awesome.

Really enjoyed the Colorado Cascade hopped Saison blend from Casey last spring, I hope he does something similar this year. Also was lucky enough to share a bottle of Saison Blend 1 with a few folks at the brewery in October. That beer has developed a beautiful funk over the 2.5+ years since it was bottled. Can't be too many of those left in the wild.

Always have enjoyed Funkwerks, especially the Nelson. Tropic King and the regular Saison are great too.

Shout out to Wiley Roots, they're Citra Dry Hopped Funk Yo Couch was a really tasty dry-hopped wild saison.

    I'm sensing a trend here...

Need to try that one again. Liked it when i tried at the taproom but that was the last stop on a somewhat busy day. Wantto revisit on a fresher pallet.

    Everything mentioned is awesome.

    - Atom's Arlo is great. Their Two Unions, while pricey, is also fantastic.
    - Always enjoyed River North's J Marie and its variations.
    - Wiley Roots' Citra Funk Yo Couch was one of my favorite beers last year. Same with their Sudachi. Incredible beer if you can still find it.
    - Huge fan of Crooked Stave's Wild Sage.
    - Funkwerks' single hop series has been great. Loved Cascade and Galaxy.

I thought the Galaxy SH was great.

I do enjoy the Nelson one but just wish that they wouldn't add the grape muste to it, personally.

    Haven't tried the other(s).

Casey Saison is a great beer. Truly into that world of what a real Farmhouse saison would be like. Id love to see multiple agings of this blended together, could be beautiful stuff. Would be very traditional as well.

Atom is doing really cool things in that realm as well such as the spontaneous fermentation with b1 Arlo and b2 being brewed with b1 dregs, in his backyard. It feels so much like the right way to brew saison. I've always seen these as "Whatever works" for good beer.

The evolution of Surette especially as the foeder changed over time was a real cool thing from crooked stave.

Funkwerks is hit or miss for me. It tastes so clean to me. When it works it works but it's often just a slam back type beer.

I really enjoyed Arlo batch 1 when it first came out in April. Bought 5 or 6 bottles and was stoked to try more from Atom. Drank a few, traded a few, but unfortunately, I didn't enjoy how the beer developed in the bottle. The last one I opened a month ago was pretty unpleasant.

Have not revisited with b2 or tried any other Atom offerings, so I probably shouldn't make snap judgements here. Curious if anyone else has tried this beer with some age on it and experienced anything similar.

EDIT- I just looked at Untappd and totally forgot about the Arlo aged on raspberries and the Grisette from SourFest. Both were awesome. I need to check out more Atom. To be continued....

It's still around. Wanna try it, but having a hard time pulling the trigger based on price. I know that I likely won't regret it, though.

I think my best of's from last year were Cerebral Monochrome and Arlo B1. Wiley Funk Yo Couch (the original) was amazing as well. And not Colorado, but still "Mountain" Grand Teton had a brett saison I thought was so good I went back and cleared out the 7 bottles TB had. They put a new case recently, might have to go buy them out again.

Casey for me. East Bank, in particular.

Aspen Brewing makes (made?) a decent saison too. More traditional than not.

Cerebral has a really nice hoppy saison on tap right now, Len's Flare.

Black Project also has a really nice wild saison on tap right now, The Buzzer.

Revisited this one the other day......glad I did, really good.

They also also have a "raw ale" on tap right now that seemed to fall into the farmhouse/saison wheelhouse that is really, really good.

Hey guys, just wanted to drop a note that we're releasing a new 100% Brett Saison this Saturday at the taproom. Ambiguous Vibes is a blend of 5 month old stainless (80%) and Chardonnay barrel-fermented (20%) with kabosu juice. Cheers!

River North Funk the Man was really good.
I also think most Crooked Staves are on point.
