I really love a good cream ale in the Spring time and want to know what your favorite is? I havent had a ton of them, but Pelican Cape Kiwanda and Hales Cream Ale are my favorites.

Go for Sweet Action by Sixpoint. Really nice cream ale.

I like Anderson Valley's Summer Solstice which should be fairly easy to get and Pumphouse's Cadian Cream. Have not tried as many in this style as other styles though.

If imperialized versions work for this, then I'd put forth Slumbrew's My Better Half. Damn, that stuff is tasty...

Well, Hale's is already my favorite Cream Ale, so I've got no decent input.

Summer Solstice is pretty good as well.

    My vote is tied for:
    Sixpoint Sweet Action
Anderson Valley Summer Solstice (though not available in spring)

I never got some of the hate I've heard for Little Kings. If I ever have a dedicated beer fridge, I think I'm gonna have an 8-pack in there at all times...

New Glarus Spotted Cow. I would love it if I could find a source to ship it to Alabama.

+2 for Spotted Cow. Solid for the style and available everywhere (at least in WI  )

Man, you can fit a whole lot more than 8 in there- leave one of the drawers in the fridge and fill it up with a case of Little Kings. I miss 7 oz. nip bottles- they fit perfectly in that little "leg" pocket of overalls or carpenter pants, stick one in there, do a little yard work and take break and crack open a Little King Cream Ale. (Just remember not to bend down once you remove the cap- I did that once picking some greens in the garden...tasty lettuce that evening, tho' my pant leg was sorta damp the rest of the day).

I think LK's problem is being a very pale color but hoppy beer in a very light colored green bottle leaves it often lightstruck. I remember in the late '90's when they were briefly in the NJ market they actually came in a transparent shrink-wrapped loose pack case- so even buying a case wasn't a sure thing. (WHAT were they thinking!) But once they returned to the cardboard case they're fine. Sadly, they're gone from around here (again) - the last ones I saw were over a year old and had been sitting under lights all that time. No promotion at all.

One of the last great pre-craft era US golden ales left...
