Schlafly's is my #1 -- stuff is amazing. I'm not sure how Post Road got in their top 10

Just visited selins and horseheads for the first time a few weeks ago. Selins doesnt bottle. Horseheads does bottle but I don't think the distribute to many places. Williamsburg should be easy to find in VA but not sure how far they distribute.

You go to the brewery, you get a pint (or three) on nitro, you order a great, simple meal, and have a good evening. Really no other way to get it.

Surprised to see Shipyard getting some respect in both the Top Ten list and the thread.

Also surprised that Pumking is the most reviewed Southern Tier beer.

Anyway, it's been a few years since I've ventured into pumpkin beers and I've decided to pick up a couple this year: Southern Tier Pumking, Sam Adams Fat Jack, and Terrapin Pumpkinfest (if I come across a single).

My two surprises this year are Uinta clocking in at 4.8% abv and very tasty at that, and UFO pumpkin from Harpoon. Seriously, Harpoon is making a very solid pumpkin ale this year. No lie

I love Cambridge Brewing Company's Great Pumpkin Ale, followed closely by Jolly Pumpkin's La Parcela and DFH Punkin' Ale.

The Pumpkineater is my person favourite Pumpkin ale. Great stuff on tap or out of the 1L swing top bottles.

    2. Elysian The Great Pumpkin
    3. Pumking
    4. Frog's Hollow Double Pumpkin
    5. Elysian Coche De Medianoche
    6. Good Gourd
    7. Kick
    8. DFH Punkin
    9. Rumpkin
    10. Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin

Ten is a lot to name in a style that many don't ever brew and many more brew poorly. The Schlafly and Elysian two are just utterly phenomenal though and we buy the equivalent of a case between bottles and draft each year in Pumking.

I've only had ST Pumking the past two years and both times they were awful (I've seen some people say these were two bad years) so I just may give them one more shot this year. I've always thought DFH Punkin was pretty good but subtle and muted pumpkin flavors. I really like Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale - it is the least subtle of the bunch. It is very spicy and there is no mistaking all of the pumpkin pie flavors.

Pumking is definitely number one for me and might be my favorite fall beer. Weyerbacher and Smashed Pumpkin were 2 and 3. Havent had Punkin, Schafly or Good Gourd though.
